Gravity-Defying Skyscrapers And Unparalleled Luxury: The Best Hotels In Dubai

There’s nowhere on earth quite like Dubai. A place that’s constantly on the lips of plenty of British celebrities, influencers and Instagrammers, it’s somewhere that takes luxury living to a whole new level.

While Dubai might be its official name, you’ll often arrive in this Middle Eastern metropolis and hear it referred to as the “City of Gold”, “a man made paradise” or maybe just “that seriously cool city with loads of skyscrapers”.

However you refer to Dubai, it’s fair to say this city of superlatives knows what’s what in the world of impressive hotels. Most of these come in the form of impossibly tall skyscrapers, decked out with lavish suites and apartments, overlooking the Arabian Gulf or the glittering skyline.

But you’ll find hidden gems dotted around corners here, too, like authentic, sandy-walled boutique hotels with unique charm and characteristics. Not sure where to stay during your time in the UAE? Read on for all of the best hotels in Dubai.

1. Four Points Dubai

Four Points Dubai 8

If you’re looking for a luxury Dubai hotel in a great location, Four Points ticks a lot of boxes. It’s located in arguably the best spot in Dubai: Sheikh Zayed Road, with Burj Khalifa views and easy access to Dubai Marina

The hotel itself is pretty swish, too, with a 24-hour gym, a rooftop outdoor pool, five international restaurants and bars featuring French, Indian and Italian food and its own signature rooftop lounge with unparalleled views of Downtown Dubai. That stunning terrace is likely where you’ll spend most of your time while staying here, either with a great cocktail in hand or your phone, taking skyline photos.

2. Jumeirah Zabeel Saray

Jumeirah Zabeel Saray 2

Jumeirah Zabeel Saray is located in The Palm, which makes it a perfect Dubai hotel for anyone looking to be close to the water. This five star hotel promises Ottoman-inspired elegance on the West Crescent of Palm Jumeirah, with a huge swimming pool overlooking the sea beyond.

Relaxation is key here, with stylish rooms facing the Palm and stunning decor throughout. It’s a place where due care and attention features on every wall, from the gourmet dishes served at The Music Hall right the way through to the afternoon tea at The Sultan’s Lounge.

3. Mandarin Oriental Jumeirah

Mandarin Oriental

Check into Mandarin Oriental Jumeirah and you’ll never want to leave. The long list of amenities this luxury hotel offers seems to never end. Starting with the spacious swimming pool and continuing through with the fully equipped gym, gorgeous rooms and otherwise spectacular setting.

Like all Mandarin Oriental hotels, the Jumeirah promises to exceed your expectations. Set on Jumeirah Beach along the Gulf, this vibrant, posh hotel shines with its beachfront location in a way that only a Dubai hotel can. The spa and dining facilities are the glittering cherry on top.

4. Bulgari Resort

Bulgari Hotel & Resorts 3

Dubai’s Bulgari Resort is stunningly beautiful. Designed in a building reminiscent of old town Dubai, it’s set on a seahorse-shaped island in Jumeirah Bay and has its own private marina. This seriously suave spot is well kitted out with all of the essentials for your trip to Dubai, including multiple dining options, a luxurious spa, beach access and that sparkling marina.

It’s also set in a great neighbourhood – Jumeirah 2 – which means easy access for strolling through the canals, and plenty of delicious upscale Arabic restaurants to choose between for dinner.

The Palm is home to some of Dubai’s most prestigious hotels and One&Only The Palm is a brilliant example of just that. This pastel toned building is one of the most impressive on The Palm, with a particular focus on its stunning architecture.

A place where you’ll simultaneously enjoy the Arabic charms of the UAE and the Mediterranean comforts from the western world, One&Only The Palm is a hotel where you’ll always feel relaxed and truly comfortable. Once you’ve taken your eyes off of the incredible main building, wander around the lush gardens, check into the Guerlain spa for both Arabic and Western rituals or just make yourself comfy on one of the huge day beds.

6. Waldorf Astoria Dubai - Palm Jumeirah

Waldorf Astoria Dubai Palm Jumeirah 3

Another popular spot on the world famous Palm Jumeirah, Waldorf Astoria Dubai is one of the largest hotels in the area and crams endless amounts of fun and style into every corner.

All of the luxury rooms and suites here come with glittering views of the Dubai skyline, complemented with the blue sea below and the Arabian Gulf. One of the coolest parts about this resort is its private beach, which spans for 200 metres and promises tanning with no distractions. There’s also multiple swimming pools, water sports, tennis courts and a Waldorf Astoria Spa.

7. XVA Hotel

XVA Hotel 6

XVA Hotel isn’t your usual Dubai hotel. Sure, it’s just as fancy and kitted out as the rest of them but, instead of skyscraper buildings and glittering city views, it’s a little more traditional. Check in here for a glimpse into a world of Arabian art, set within the heart of the historic Al Bastakiya neighbourhood.

Wind-towers and minarets are some of the things you’ll admire from your bedroom window here and, if you take a stroll outside, you’ll discover plenty of local artwork, handicrafts, handmade goods and jewellery to remember your trip with. It’s a stylish hotel that shows a whole different side of Dubai.

8. Raffles Dubai

Raffles Dubai 2

You know what you’re getting as soon as you see the word “Raffles” on the side of the hotel and Raffles Dubai is no exception. The best of the best – or at least up there in a city which takes a lot of impressive titles – Raffles Dubai was inspired by the great pyramids of Egypt and is decked out accordingly.

This incredible building may be a little off the beaten track for most of Dubai’s holidayers but it’s well worth the extra journey on the Metro. As well as the huge, pyramid shaped building, you’ll find handcrafted ornaments and luxurious fabrics in all of the bedrooms and a huge outdoor pool to soak up the sun in.

9. Park Hyatt

Park Hyatt 8

Park Hyatt Dubai brings together a lot of different cultures and climates, all set within one prestigious hotel. Located next to Dubai Creek, it promises water views from most of the bedrooms and gloriously green grounds to wander through when you need a little more fresh air.

There are endless options for entertainment here, from the usual pool and tech-equipped rooms through to an onsite luxury salon, a golf and yacht club, multiple whirlpools and an idyllic spa. There’s also the Lagoon Beach, a private 100 metre infinity lagoon with sunbeds, private cabanas and Mediterranean-inspired decor.

Widely recognised as not only Dubai’s most iconic hotel but also one of the most iconic across the entire world, the Burj al Arab deserves all of the recognition it’s awarded. This ridiculously impressive spot takes luxury to new heights, in every sense of the phrase.

Its list of award-winning features never seems to run out but some of the coolest include the unique man made beach, the sweeping infinity pool and the suavely decorated grand atrium, which sits 180 metres high in the sky. A world class spa and a variety of delicious dining options sets the Burj al Arab ahead of most Dubai hotels – and that’s saying something.

11. La Ville Hotel & Suites

La Ville Hotel & Suites 4

Good things come in small packages and La Ville Hotel & Suites is a brilliant example of just that. This boutique hotel in Dubai is a popular choice, thanks to its sweeping designs and impeccable views over both the Arabian Gulf and the city’s skyline.

Part of the Autograph Collection, this distinctive low rise hotel truly shines when it comes to ensuring you have a magical escape. The courtyard is one of the best parts of this property, based in the centre and always buzzing with a great atmosphere. The upper deck pool is another great spot with Dubai’s perpetual sunshine beaming down.

12. Four Seasons

Walkway in Jumeirah

There are two Four Seasons hotels in Dubai but the best – in our humble opinion – is the Four Seasons Resort Dubai at Jumeirah Beach. This huge hotel looks more like a castle than a mere accommodation option, with entire turrets set on manicured grounds and beautiful walkways throughout.

It’s one of the best hotels in Dubai if you’re a foodie or fancy sampling some new dishes or drinks, as this Four Seasons is home to a whopping 10 restaurants & bars. As well as beautiful rooms and suites which all look fit for a princess, this resort boasts of tennis courts, a large pool and even kayaking options.

13. Bab Al Shams Desert Resort & Spa

Bab Al Shams Desert Resort & Spa 2

Most Dubai hotels follow a similar stream: upscale resorts built upwards. Bab Al Shams Desert Resort & Spa is almost entirely the opposite: a luxurious hotel right out there in the desert. What it lacks in skyline views it more than makes up for with its stunning, orange-hued surroundings.

A brilliant adventure of a hotel where gazelles, birds and geckos all wander around outside, it’s an Arabian paradise with a difference. Even though you’re out in the desert, you’ll still have all the luxuries you’re used to here: premium restaurants and bars, a spa, a gym and multiple infinity pools. It’s the full package.

Think of the coolest Dubai hotels and you’ll almost definitely think of Atlantis, The Palm. Dominating the skyline and everything around it, this luxury hotel resort sits at the apex of the Palm Jumeirah and looks like it should be more suited to a Disney film than a real life place you can stay.

This bucket-list hotel was designed to look almost mythical and is basically an entire city by itself. Just some of its seriously cool features include a water park, a dolphin pool with an aquarium, as well as a spa and 23 restaurants. That’s right: it would take you at least a week to try everything here just once.

Rixos Premium is one of Dubai’s best hotels on a 24/7 basis. During the day here, you’ll probably spend most of your time relaxing at the resort’s beach club, which overlooks the JBR beach and comes complete with multiple pools and hours of tanning time.

Then there’s the seriously indulgent spa, complete with yet more pools and plenty of relaxing treatments. The best rooms at Rixos Premium come with standalone bathtubs, which look out over the buzzing Dubai cityscape. You’ll struggle to find a more impressive shower setting than in this chic, modern hotel.

16. Dukes The Palm

Dukes The Palm 5

Dukes The Palm’s lazy river is a big winner at this Dubai hotel, a place where you’ll find yourself rushing back to each afternoon when the sunshine just gets a little bit too toasty. This Royal Hideaway Hotel sits in the exclusive Palm Jumeirah area with its own private beach and stunning views from every window.

A hotel where luxury is taken seriously, it’s filled with more amenities than you’d ever be able to experience: the award-winning Khyber restaurant with its authentic Indian cuisine, a spectacular indoor pool on the 14th floor, the iconic Dukes Bar and an infinity pool with views of the Arabian Gulf, to name just a few.

17. Shangri-La

Shangri-la Hotel Dubai 3

Honeymooners especially love Dubai’s Shangri-La hotel, with its dreamy, romantic rooms and treat-yourself spa packages. A place that goes above and beyond with dining options, you’ll feel a little like you’ve taken a journey across the entire world if you manage to sample everything on offer here.

As much as you likely came to Dubai to do a bit of exploring, you’ll find yourself wanting to spend most of your time inside the resort at the Shangri-La, thanks to the luxury hotel’s award-winning CHI spa and indulgent health club. And then there’s the breathtakingly beautiful pool as well, of course.
